This is where children from years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to learn together and develop a sense of community over the course of their Key Stage 2 journey.
In Class 2, we provide our children with the opportunity to grow as individuals both academically and socially. We encourage them to grow as independent, creative, enthusiastic and thoughtful young people with strong morals and a thirst for learning. The children are supportive of each other and thrive working in a mixed age environment. As children progress year on year in the class, they are invited to take on different responsibilities and roles within the class, from buddying up and leading teams to taking on day to day roles within the classroom and for the school.
Every day we have both Literacy and Maths lessons which are designed to be a shared experience within the class with children working across age groups and embracing working with their friends. Our afternoons are spent learning Science, History, Geography, Art, Music and much, much more!
We have access to a wide range of resources and space, including our class library which is filled with a range of books for all the children to enjoy; we also have ongoing access to our computer suite for children to use in both computing lessons and to support their learning in other subjects.
We love making use of the school hall and outdoor space to extend our learning, for example Forest School activities, dance, sports and drama. We love performing on our stage and helping with assemblies.
We are all great friends and enjoy our time together very much.
What our children say
‘’The teachers are awesome and they will give you full support in everything you do as well as the many resources that they give you.’’ Louie
‘’All of the teachers are really funny, friendly and supportive and work extremely hard to make every single lesson as fun as it can possibly be. My favourite lessons are Art, English, PSHE and Environmental work. When I joined the school, I was really nervous but then everyone welcomed me and I made loads of friends. I will really miss everyone here when I leave for high school. They’ve done absolutely amazing this year and I’m really happy and proud to have such brilliant teachers and friends.’’ Amy
“I like being in this class because the teachers are really kind, funny, supportive and have helped me learn lots. The work is challenging and fun at the same time.” Elliot
