    Thu 16 Mar 2017

Pupils at Wymondham St Peter’s CE Primary School celebrated the wonderful world of reading on World Book Day 2017 with both staff and pupils dressed as their favourite book characters.

Activities during the day included writing a 10-word story, exploring Room on a Broom, Guess the Book Character and costume competition. Featured among the fantastic outfits were Little Miss Sunshine; The Secret Garden; Julian from The Famous Five; Gangsta Granny and Mary Poppins.

Year 4 pupil, Campbell, said, “It was great fun and I enjoyed dressing up and all the activities. Everyone put a good effort into the costumes they made.”

Executive Head teacher, Mrs Anne Harvey, commented, “World Book Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the children had an amazing day. This is just one of the many special events held at this unique Church of England, village primary school, which is currently judged as Good by Ofsted and Outstanding by SIAMS. Wymondham  has small class sizes, impeccably behaved pupils, high academic standards, and all within an impressive nurturing and caring environment. • Cross Country

    Thu 16 Mar 2017

Saturday 25th February was a big day for Wymondham, St Peter’s.  We had been training for this for months!! We took over 50% or our KS2 pupils to Longfield Academy to take part in the Melton and Belvoir Cross Country.

It was a soggy day, but the children showed their usual positive attitude towards their run.  They all ran brilliantly round the boggy track and all managed to finish, even though it was very challenging.

For the first time ever, we won a medal! Over 25%of our children qualified for the next round and highlight of the day was when four of our children joined another child to help her finish the course.what great ambassadors for our school.
