Achieve through enjoyment and excellence

“Have love for one another, a tender heart and a humble mind” (1 Peter 3:8)

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Welcome

A warm welcome from our Executive Head teacher

As the Executive Headteacher and on behalf of the children, staff and governors I am very pleased to welcome you to Wymondham CE Primary school. I am very proud to be Headteacher of our wonderful school, leading a team of committed staff and working closely with families and the community to help our children to reach their full potential through enjoyment and excellence.

We are a small village school surrounded by beautiful rural countryside serving the villages of Wymondham, Edmondthorpe, Saxby and Stapleford.

We were delighted to become an Academy within Rise Multi-Academy Trust in 2014. We enjoy very close links with our partner school: Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School. We also work closely with our cluster of local Rise Multi Academy Trust schools including Waltham-on-the-Wolds CE Primary School, Redmile CE Primary School and St Mary's in Melton, as well as with other Rise schools.

Our school is at the heart of the community and we really value the partnership with children, parents and members of the community including the church, pre-school and parish council.

At Wymondham we aim to provide a happy, caring, vibrant school that will promote high standards of personal achievement and the opportunity for full social, emotional and spiritual development of all the children in our care.

Our teaching staff include 2 full time class teachers, a higher-level teaching assistant, an experienced nursery nurse and a part time learning support assistant. Our pupils also benefit from the expertise of visiting sports coaches, all of whom teach with us on a weekly basis and are very much part of the school. We also run sports after school clubs for all ages.

We have two classes, of mixed ability and gender, all vertically grouped: Reception, Year 1 and 2, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 who are taught in split classes of year 3/4 and 5/6. We have developed a rich curriculum, building on sequential knowledge and developing skills in all aspects of learning including the creative arts, with English and maths central to our work.

We are exceptionally proud of the caring, Christian ethos we share at Wymondham; our aim is that learning is inspiring, relevant, challenging and most importantly that the children have fun and are happy.

If you are a prospective parent looking for a place for your child, please contact us as we would be pleased to show you around. In the meantime, please explore our website and feel free to get in touch if you would like further information.
